ITM: Closing out The Crucible

I believe Sunday night will be the final local performance of Ingram's One-act Play entry The Crucible. From there it's on to Llano for actual competition on Wednesday.

I was at Llano to see them at a festival last Saturday. They were good despite some technical glitches. Judge Freida Attaway had a slew of excellent comments for them, and i'm sure many will be in place by the time they gather next week.

In particular Jonah Priour, Lillian Beaudoin, John Ferguson, Whitney Wilson, Cadi Hawkins and Aaron Hutto shone, and Patrick Wade and Gary Givens got extra props for some really nice work on their parts. Everyone has come a long way, and i for one think they have a strong shot this year.

And that's not counting that Wimberley is virtually a shoe-in. Not because they have any special favors granted as some contend, but because they are consistently excellent. The chief other competition normally comes from Llano and Bandera.

Roslyn Houghton's Bandera crew is doing Much Ado About Nothing and using much she learned from playing in it herself at The Point Theatre several years ago.
