ENV: Ivory-bills The Movie!

The videotape of the Ivory-billed Woodpecker has been available as a section of the Nature Conservancy's press release video in a fairly small size.

I have now located an online, larger, copy of just the Arkansas section. It is at:

Ivory-billed Woodpecker Movie

In this version there is no doubt you are looking at a large woodpecker. The bird comes off the trunk of the tree at the lower lefthand corner just left of the end of the canoe paddle. For best looks, put the player on pause and move the slider back and forth with your cursor.

And the 1935 film, the last starring role for this species.

Update: Thanks to Susan Sander for passing along this very cool look at Ivory-billed habitat in the Cache River NWR.
