ENV: Not-Really-a-Cat-Friday

One of the purposes for our big trip to west Texas in September was to get pictures and film of a little known critter -- the Mayan Setwing. First discovered in Texas by John Abbott several years ago, it is still known only from a handful of spring and marsh sites in Brewster and Presidio Counties. We went to the place it was first found -- Ojito Adentro which feeds into Las Cuevas Amarillas in Presidio County. Below are some of my own pictures, though i was more interested in filming the thing (which i did).

Don't forget to pay a visit to The Friday Ark at The Modulator!

also present, among other fine odonates, was this
Red Rock Skimmer, Paltothemis lineatipes
