ENV: Cool Beans!

First, some remarkable photos of a flock of California Condors that has located, and is feeding on, a beached Gray Whale (a bit graphic for the squeamish):

And then today, a couple of my kids who are most adept at finding cool critters found a Polyphemus Moth and brought it in. It was a five-and-a-half inch female and had laid seven eggs in the container. I will try to raise the critters. The female was photographed and released. It is my own first record for the county. This morning i showed the pics to Mike Wood and he said he had seen one at a gas station just a week ago.
