COM: Blogarithmic #138

Well, the kid who had the big weekend was Peter Navarra, who more than starred in the first-ever football game for Our Lady of the Hills, which they won 41-13. Some debut for both! Here's the clip from the Daily Times:

The Hawks’ defense forced four fumbles — one each recovered by Rodrigo Arreola and Will Gregory — and allowed NB Christian just five first downs. Peter Navarra finished with 14 tackles, including six solo tackles, and Arreola had eight tackles, including a quarterback sack. Offensively, the Hawks stuck to the ground, rushing for 197 yards and finishing with 253 yards in total offense. Navarra led the way with 71 yards and three touchdowns on just five carries.

And check out Will Gregory making his mark on defense.

Update: The Hill Country Journal had a full page spread on OLH's first game, with a nearly full-page-sized picture of Peter. They also named him area Player of the Week!

We're having our first read-through for Lend Me A Tenor this Sunday at 3:00 p.m. at the Point.

It's special because it's another rung up the ladder of excellence that every host seems to be climbing AND it's the completion of our first year. COngrats to Steve for a fine, fine issue! You can catch it at Sunbeams from Cucumbers.

I have almost all Ruby-throated Hummingbirds at the feeders still -- at least 15-20. There are a couple of young Black-chinned Hummingbirds still around,, but i've had no adult males for a couple of weeks. Nor i have i had anything different since the Rufous a few weeks ago, though i expected more Rufous and may yet get some.
