Well, here's some of the weekend news:

First from up Dallas way:
Highland Park 20, Frisco 7
FRISCO – Highland Park extended its winning streak to 17 games by scoring three second-half touchdowns to rally for a 20-7 win over Frisco at Pizza Hut Park. The 17-game winning streak ties the school record set in the 1923-24 seasons. Frisco (1-1) ran continuously at Highland Park, with Brogan Funderburg rushing 30 times for 206 yards and a touchdown. Midway through the second quarter, Funderburg broke loose up the middle for an 86-yard scoring run. Highland Park (2-0), ranked No. 1 in SportsDay's area Class 4A poll, responded on its first drive of the second half. Senior Alex Carroll opened the drive with a 29-yard run down the left sideline, and Highland Park kept it on the ground for eight more plays before Ryan Fanning scored on a 6-yard plunge. Carroll finished with 184 yards on 16 carries. Frisco had a first-and-goal from the 2-yard line late in the third quarter but couldn't get into the end zone. Highland Park's Ryan Ross batted down Colin Graney's pass on fourth down to end the threat. Highland Park took the lead with an eight-play, 97-yard drive, highlighted by Carroll's 37-yard run. Quarterback William Webb scored on a 19-yard run to end the drive.

Yep, that's William Lawson on the left above running over some hapless Frisco defender!

And Peter Navarra had another incredible game as OLH upped its first ever season record to 2-0 with a 46-0 win over Sunnybrook. Peter had seven tackles and one forced fumble on defense, 125 yards rushing and two touchdowns on just six carries, one of them a 56-yarder for a TD, and all of that in a little over a quarter of play! Tanner Simpson also got in on the heroics with a touchdown.
