LIT: Thom the World Poet workshop

My neighbor, and wonderful writer, Anne Schneider is hosting my good friend, and wonderful writer, Thom Woodruff, better known as Thom the World Poet, for a workshop at her studio. He'll also be performing at the Schreiner University Coffeehouse, all in celebration of National Poetry Month. Using stimuli ranging from visual to verbal cues, Thom will guide you back to your Muse – freeing up your natural abilities to write, express and perform your works.

Devote some time to pampering your own inspiration, so you can be amazed at your abilities!

Using techniques from WRITING DOWN THE BONES as well as original applications, Thom will inspire you to trust your skills, and produce work worthy of attention.

This workshop is for all ages and all skill levels – so come prepared with an open mind and plenty of tabula rasae!

**Thom will be featured at Schreiner University’s final spring Coffeehouse, April 2, 7 – 9 p.m. at the Cailloux Activity Center**

Thom is an Australian borne Austin based improvising bard, who works with musicians around the world. He is a co-founder of AUSTIN INTERNATIONAL POETRY FESTIVAL, as well as host of THE HIDEOUT Mondays, POETRY KARAOKE Tuesdays, VINNYS ITALIAN CAFE First Wednesdays, and EXPRESSIONS First Saturdays. He is a member of WORDJAZZ ENSEMBLE and has 152 books of poetry available, 16 CDs, and many tapes from improvised poetry to improvised music. Thom is a regular feature at CHELTENHAM LITERATURE FESTIVAL, and runs writing workshops at YORKSHIRE ARTS CIRCUS annually. Thom has supported BOB DYLAN, RUSSELL CROWE, ROY HARPUR, etc and is available for performance and writing workshop sessions now.
