yes, the one on the stick is a Roseate Skimmer, the one on the antenna is a Carmine Skimmer (new for the county)

I get the feeling that birding really is the 'gateway' hobby for butterflies and dragonflies! Alas, I'm sure I skip over a ton of insects in the name of 'well, it looks like a..' because I just don't know which ones to double check. Never too late to start though, eh?
